]]>I love birds...wild birds, domestic birds, big birds and little birds, pretty birds and ugly birds...I just love BIRDS. Still learning to master photographing this incredibly challenging subject. Hard to get those tack sharp pro-looking shots with a zoom of constantly quick moving targets with a less than $3,000 lens, but I'm working on it.

iPhoneography...For The Fun of It

]]>All photos in this gallery have been taken with an iPhone and processed with an array of iPhone camera and iPhone photo apps.

As of 2011, all iPhoneography shots were taken with iPhone 4. At 4 megapixels, original shots can be enlarged with special software (by special order...see the 'File Size Too Small?! page) for prints up to 10”x15” or 12”x12” square with no loss in quality, but no larger. Please note however, if ordering iPhonography, the inherent nature of this medium leans a bit towards ‘grunge’ and shots are characteristically more grainy, and often not as tack sharp as those taken with high-end digital SLRs.

With the new iPhone 4S 8 megapixel camera, larger prints will be more viable, but I won’t be able to get a discounted iPhone upgrade until December of 2012, unless I have $700 to pay full retail price. Needless to say…pleh.

My shooting buddy Sonja and I met up with an Asheville photography group to shoot the sunset from atop the mountain. The weather did not cooperate, so I played with fog. Really nice place...I WILL return!

]]>I'm a NUT for a great fireworks display. And this year was the first year I've ever been able to get some really great shots, thanks to the opportunity provided by the Spartanburg Photographer's Guild and the coaching of the great folks at Spartan Photo Center. The Chapman Cultural Center provided a beautiful foreground for the fireworks which closed the annual July 4th festival in Spartanburg, Red, White and Boom. A grand time was had by all.

]]>Years ago, my cousin JoAnn and I collaborated on the creation of a family heirloom cookbook. These pictures (most of which were not taken by me) were collected by JoAnn for this project, and also from her fascinating ongoing research into the Bishop family's roots.

If you see family members here, contact me for details on how you can download any or all of these photos, free of charge, or how you can purchase prints and other gift items at cost.

If you're not family, it is unlikely you will be interested in this album, but if perchance you are, and you see something you'd like to use, contact me for details on how we might make arrangements for a copyright release.

I'm presently working on creating a downloadable pdf version of the Bishop Family Cookbook, to be available on this site, when completed.
